Natural and organic skincare is a hot topic. It takes a little effort, but we should all want to try to do our part and not only help the environment, but be gentler on our own bodies.
Lines of Elan is a Toronto based natural and organic skincare company that features products that are not only gluten & cruelty free, but are also biodegradable, septic and waterway safe and also vegan friendly. Now that's keeping things clean!
After testing several items, I thought I'd share them with you.
Organic Sugar Body Scrub
Many scrubs have made their way into my shower, but none have left me feeling the same way as Lines of Elan's Organic Sugar Body Scrub. The smell of brown sugar and cinnamon is heavenly and this seriously leaves your skin feeling so good afterwards! The sugar removes any dead skin while the shea butter and oils moisturize. Usually a moisturizing oil is applied to my skin post-shower, but that is not needed after using the Organic Sugar Body Scrub. Skin is left feeling super smooth and moisturized. And when your (future) husband tells you that you smell delicious when you walk out of the shower, well, you know you have a winner!
Baby Body + Bath Wash
I don't think it needs to be said, but a baby's skin is much more sensitive than an adult's. There's no reason to be using chemical crap on them. The Lines of Elan Baby Body + Bath Wash is waterway safe, septic safe, biodegradable, gluten free, vegan friendly and cruelty free and of course, natural and organic. Seriously the perfect combination for a baby's skin.
It has an orange smell that is ever so light. You can barely smell it on him after his bath, but that's ok. I've used it as an all-over shampoo and body wash and baby feels clean with no residue left behind. The large bottle goes a long way. For an almost 5 month old, 1 full pump is enough for his entire body. That's another thing that I love, it's a pump! Squeeze bottles are a bit of a pain with a tiny human.
Organic Coconut Oil Soap with Shea Charcoal and Pink Clay
This is real soap. Nothing like the chemical stuff you buy in stores. If you've never used natural and organic soaps before, you may be surprised to know that it doesn't lather as much as mass produced factory soap.
This Lines of Elan soap contains charcoal which draws out impurities and dirt from pores, leaving you nice and clean. While the pink clay also cleans, it also has contains antioxidants and has a soothing effect, which is perfect for those with sensitive skin.
This particular soap is a combination of two of Lines of Elan's soaps, and will be available for purchase on their website soon.
Tea Tree Natural Lip Balm
Tea tree is almost like a weakness to me. This multi-purpose oil smells amazing. While the smell of tea tree is definitely present, it's not overpowering and you can't smell it once it's on the lips. You can not taste it either.
With an ingredient list containing 7 ingredients, which 4 of them are oils, this lip balm is smooth and melts upon contact. It's great if your lips are already smooth and you just want to add some natural shine or give a small layer of protection, however if you're like me and have very dry, chapped lips, this isn't going to help much until they're smooth again.
It can also be used on dry skin, bug bites and cuticles, but I haven't tried it.
