Ceramic Glaze: Botanical Oasis & the letter F
When I look at Botanical Oasis, the summer collection by Ceramic Glaze, it truly makes me think of summer. A nice little sitting area under a Japanese Maple, a little pond off to the side and plants and flowers of different sizes and colours all around.
This collection truly brings that picture come to life.
Ceramic Glaze offers beautiful colours in a 3-free formula with adhesives and plasticizers to help secure the polish to your nails, all to help prevent chipping.
The Botanical Oasis collection consists of 8 colours that work together in seamless harmony to bring summer to your nails. At first glance, it just looks like a bunch of cream polishes. But a close look reveals a little hidden secret.
Starting with the Alphabet Nails letter of the week, I present to you French Reviera
I love this blue. If you look closely, it actually has has a little bit of reflective shimmer, much like when the sun shines on a river or pond.
Two coats was all that was needed for this true-blue beauty.
Looking at Heavenly from a distance, it can be mistaken for a standard white. But that's far from the truth. Heavenly is a sheer iridescent pearl that pulls pink and purple.
I applied 3 thin coats and still wasn't able to achieve opaqueness. Perhaps thicker coats are needed. As you can see, I tried it over a white polish to show how it would look.
Impulsive is a gem in this collection. What looks like a bright magenta, is actually a little darker, with blue glitter that dries matte!
I don't know what it was with this polish, but I had a hard time with it! It just did not want to cooperate with me! Of course, it was the first polish of the collection that I had started to swatch and moments before I had broken several nails doing housework. It took me two coats, but I think I should have done them thicker. The fact that I wasn't expecting it to be matte may have been a factor since it dries much faster. A topcoat was applied in the pictures to help bring out the blue glitter.
Perfect Peony is a beautiful coral that leans pink. What I would call perfect summer coral.
This only took 2 coats to achieve full opacity.
One of my two favourite colours from this collection, Petal Pusher is that purple that I've been looking for. It leans a little more blue, but isn't too bright or too dark. It's just a beautiful medium-toned purple.
As with most colours from this collection, only 2 coats were needed.
Seize the Day is a bright pink crelly polish (cream/jelly). This almost hot pink will make any brave woman seize the day!
Again, this colour is flawless with only 2 coats.
This nude offers more than a neutral colour to your nails. Take a closer look, and much like French Riviera, Urbane has some microglitter to step up it's game.
While it pulls a little on the orange side, this is a beautiful colour and I can't wait to do some nail art with it. I tried doing the accent nail with a matte topcoat to try to get the microglitter to show more, but it didn't work. 2 coats was all that was needed.
The other favourite in this collection, Surf's Up is a gorgeous bright (almost neon) mint green.
This actually took 3 coats, but I could have gone thicker and achieved opacity in 2.
The only thing I wish they would change is the brush. The brushes are thin and round, meanwhile I've been getting used to (and love) the wider, slightly flatter brushes.
Overall, the Ceramic Glaze Botanical Oasis collection does not disappoint.
