Coterie Gift Bag - First Impressions

If you haven't heard of Coterie, it's a website where you get to connect with other makeup & beauty junkies, collect items to your virtual vanity and comment on those items. Sure, it's a little like Pinterest, but think of it more like a giant pinboard with reviews on all the products you're thinking of getting your hands on. Go check out & follow my vanity.

At the end of June, they were hosting a launch event in NewYork and a Virtual Launch for members online. The virtual launch was at the actual event and they had some webcams so they got a few guest speakers to chat with us, including celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow!

July Empties

July was a successful month for empties. Yay!

Olay Body Wash + Crème Ribbons with almond oil: At first I thought this was very thick and didn't lather much. Turns out it wasn't that bad and I kinda liked it. My skin always felt nice & soft afterwards.

July Starlooks

While it was a great ride, my time with Starlooks has come to an end. It has been 2 months and 3 boxes (one being my birthday box), but I decided to quit all of my beauty box subscriptions. It's hard, but looking at the mantel above my desk is a good reminder that I have A LOT of products that I need to finish up.

June Ipsy

I look forward to getting my Ipsy bag in the mail every month. This month I checked my glam room first and was disappointed. I was still optimistic though, thinking that I'll just love it anyways once it arrives.

I was wrong.

June Favorites

Someone asked me about some of my favorite products. I find that so hard sometimes because I tend to use certain products in phase. Like I forget about something then re-discover it and it's the best thing ever. I've decided to show you the products that I've reached the most for in June.

June Empties

With the summer months among us, we tend to use less products. That in turn means that there is less empties for me to show you this month. It's a little sad that these were the only items that I was able to empty. However, two of the items are everyday items that I now have smaller samples to use up. Which means I'm slowly going through my stash. Yay!

June Starlooks Anniversary Box

I love getting beauty boxes in the mail. Anxiously awaiting for the date to arrive and not knowing exactly what is in the package, it's like Christmas.

Starlooks has a monthly subscription box called Starbox. This features a few products from their own makeup line. The box costs $22 US ($23 and some change Canadian).

Melina part 3 - Primer?

On Monday I mentioned that the cream correctors by Boxx Cosmetics can also be used as a primer - apparently even an eye primer. Since I have oily eyelids and swear by my Urban Decay Potion Primer, I had to put this to the test.

BA Star with Glitter and Base

Regardless of age, everyone has at least a tiny soft part for glitter. I know I'm definitely a sucker for a bit of glitter, even though may not wear it on my face very often.

BA Star has marketed their cosmetics, and especially their glitter, to cheerleaders, dancers, and performers of all categories. I think that it's awesome that they targeted a niche market like this. Now, just because that's who their target demographic is, doesn't mean that the rest of us glitter lovers can't enjoy some great products.
