There’s no denying it,
adding a hint of metallic can bring something from boring and innocent to edgy
and fun. essence, making sure that they
bring the public stylish and on-trend cosmetics at low prices, has created a
lovely Trend Edition (limited edition) that’ll help with bringing your look
from day to night: Metal Glam.
This collection offers a
variety of gorgeous metallic shades for the nails, beautiful eyeshadows, a
delightful blush, powder highlighter, as well as a lipgloss, gold topper and
stick on jewels.
The stick on jewels is
pretty weird if you ask me. It's like a
metallic fake tattoo for your wrist or finger. Just bizarre.
Best
Dressed is a gorgeous metallic purple lipgloss. The gloss has a fruity
smell, has a great consistency that is not too thick or runny and has a
different applicator than the usual essence lipglosses.
The slightly curved
doe-foot applicator is quite nice (especially compared to their usual applicators)
. It doesn't grab too much product either.
The colour is a blue
based purple that is very metallic. Unless a lot is applied, it's a little more
sheer with a hint of metallic colour. If you really do not like any form of
purple on your lips, I would suggest to avoid this. However, if you're not
scared to experiment or would like to see if purple could be for you, pick it
up and put it in your shopping cart!
These liquid metal nail
polishes give your tips the look of being freshly dipped in molten metal.
Although lavender is not a natural metal colour, it does look quite nice on the
nails.
The Gold Topper
adds beautiful flecks of gold to any manicure, instantly transforming it to be
part of the metal glam trend.

Here they are, Petal to the Metal, Gold Digger and Steel-ing the Scene. Like most
highly metallic polishes, it is a little streaky, but it's not too bad. The
order presented is actually in order of my personal preference.
In this collection, we
find two gorgeous face products. The first is a cream blush, Glam Me, which may sound scary with the metal
trend, but the colour is a soft coral with some of shimmer to it. The highlighter, Gold Digger, is gold
in colour and offers good pigmentation. A little would go a long way with this
product!
Both would be perfect
for the summer, the highlighter maybe more on a nice tan. However, I think
wearing both at once might be a little overkill.
The collection wouldn't
be complete without some eye products! These three eyeshadows are a sneak peak
of what essence has in stores for us! Metal Glam eyeshadows should be
making their debut to the regular line of essence products in Spring or Summer.
They are highly
pigmented and do look very sparkly, however as you can see from the picture
above, the sparklyness seems to be on the top layer (I got excited and started playing with some before I took pictures) . That's not to say that
these babies are not shimmery, because they very much are!
The colours, Golden
Eye, Petal to the Metal and Steel-ing the Scene are shown above over
a primer. You can see a little to the left and right sides where the
pigmentation isn't as strong, which is where there is no primer. The colours
are gorgeous on their own or used as an accent in your look. Petal to the Metal
for the inner corners anyone?
I seriously love all of
the products in this collection (except the weird stick on jewels). I've
already spotted this collection in a few Shoppers and noticed that the products
are going fast! Have you purchased any or plan on buying some?
