Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer: Review

Too Faced Born This Way Concealer

Let's talk concealer. They're fantastic at hiding those minor imperfections and making you look like you got a full night's sleep when really you've been up all night tending to a crying baby. Get a good one, it works wonders. Get a bad one, and it'll turn into a hot mess real quick.

For the longest time, I was in that hot mess category. Over the years, I've tried a couple different ones, but none that were amazing. They were just OK. Concealer is some serious business. Ok just doesn't cut it.

While at GenBeauty Toronto, I visited the Too Faced booth and got colour matched for their brand new Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer. Now, having tried many concealers in the past, I wasn't holding my breath.

I was wrong. It's love. It can't be helped.

Let's start with the first thing, the colour match.  I've been matched before, but the person wanted to literally MATCH my skin. My main concern is dark circles under my eyes. Matching skin tone is not going to do anything. 1 shade lighter is usually the perfect shade.

Too Faced Born This Way concealer in Fair is the perfect shade for my skin tone. For comparison, MAC Pro Longwear concealer in NW20 is almost a bang on match to my actual skin tone.

Even though this is concealer, you want something moisturizing under the eyes, and you definitely don't want it settling into some of those fine lines that might be trying to creep up. The Born This Way concealer contains coconut water to replenish moisture levels, alpine rose to brighten and boost radiance, and hyaluronic acid which helps soften fine lines and wrinkles (you can read more about this wonder ingredient here)

With these ingredients in the mix, this concealer smells great (a little like piƱa colada - you do have to hold it pretty close to your nose) and doesn't feel drying at all. It doesn't tend to settle in those fine lines and blends effortlessly for a flawless look

It applies with a doe foot applicator, which I don't mind at all since I tend to go over it all with a damp makeup sponge.

And this "Naturally Radiant" part? It really does give a subtle, natural glow.

So while this concealer is going to set me back $32 for 7ml, I'll be buying it again in a heartbeat.
