St. Patrick's Day makeup: Green & Gold Eyes

green and gold makeup

St. Patrick's day is tomorrow and you're going to see green all over the place. You might even participate. While you can dress yourself from head-to-toe in green, don't forget to add a little green to your makeup. Whether you choose to go with full-on green eyeshadow or just add a little hint of green, the possibilities are endless.

Today I'll show you a look that did that had green (a little more like teal) as a major focus, but was not the main colour on my eyelids.

What I used:

Eyes:

  • Wet n Wild Fergie Eye Shadow Priner
  • Make Up For Ever Artist Eyeshadow in S234
  • Urban Decay eyeshadow in Baked
  • Lorac Unedited (from Unzipped Gold)
  • Tarte SmolderEyes in Espresso
  • Make Up For Ever Artist Liner in Matte Black
  • Bare Minerals Lash Domination mascara
  • Essence Make Me Brow & Benefit Gimme Brow (I was doing a comparison between the two, review coming this weekend!)

Face:
  • Smashbox Primer Water
  • Revlon Colorstay Concealer in 01 Fair
  • Nars Tinted Moisturizer in Finland
  • NYX WonderStick in Light/Medium
  • Essence Contour Powder in 02 Medium
  • Too Faced bronzer (coral leopard? it's discontinued)
  • Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop
Lips:
  • Bite Mauvember

You can start with your eyes or your face, whichever you prefer. I do caution that if your eyeshadow has a lot of fallout, to do your eyes first.

  • Primer face with whatever primer you prefer
  • Conceal any spots you want to hide
  • Apply foundation/tinted moisturizer/bb cream with brush, fingers or sponge (I like using my Real Techniques Miracle Complexiong Sponge)
  • Contour! I used NYX, then when that wasn't working out so well (it blended in way too much), I used the essence contour powder on certain areas (cheeks)
  • Add a little bronzer and highlighter to add dimension and blend!
  • Prime eyes, again using your favourite primer
  • Apply brown eyeliner (Tarte Espresso) to outter corner of eyes and smudge
  • Apply gold (Urban Decay Baked) to eyelid and  about 1/2 of lower lid, middle out
  • Apply brown (Lorac Unedited) over the brown eyeliner and blend into the gold
  • Using a light hand, apply your green/teal (MUFE S234) to the crease and slight above. Again, blend but don't blend too much into the gold.
  • Apply same colour to the other 1/2 of the lower lid
  • Line eyes with black liner (MUFE Matte Black)
  • Add mascara
  • Do those brows!
  • Apply lipstick (ok, my lipstick wore off by the time I took these pictures, several hours later. You will see it on the eyebrow post though!)
